Camp Lejeune, NC, Here I Come!

As if the week didn't start off with enough exciting news, mid-week my sailor returned from a month and a half long training session at Twentynine Palms.  And then he went to work right away and on his second day back, he had the keys to our new house!  So it has been a crazy busy week while I finally started really letting myself pack the things I was putting off in case I needed them.  So in a little over 48 hours I will be pulling into my new house, soon to be home! :)  It is a cute little two-bedroom townhouse in Hubert, NC, only one mile off base.  It has ALL the appliances thankfully so we don't have to worry about that in our budget.  I'll keep posts of how our house is coming along each week to see our progress and the fun things we're doing.

There's some things we had already discussed that we want to do for our home.

We want all our paintings and artwork to be our own.  We are both artistic, but in different ways.  My sailor loves to draw with a pencil.  I absolutely despise it.  I prefer color and paint on canvas or upcyclying items like furniture.

We want to have no TV in our bedroom.  The only TV will be in the family room because we want our bedroom to be peaceful and not have any of the nonsense with falling asleep with a TV on (which really impacts how well you sleep) and want it to be our space.

And, let's face it, we're a young couple, I'm not working yet, so our budget is tight.  It'll be mattress on the floor, clothes folded against the wall, and box table for a little bit, but I could not be more excited!
