Refilling my Swiffer Wet Jet, Gettin' Thrifty

There's nothing I love more than being thrifty, but only when it pays off and saves times.  When it comes to cleaning products, they can make your grocery list sky rocket, especially because they all seem to need replaced at the same time.

Luckily, a very smart man (yes, it was a man) created Pinterest and I found a way to save $10 and no longer do I need to resist pressing that awesome button on the Swiffer Wet Jet when cleaning my floor because now I can press it as much as I want to!  Using half water and half floor cleaner of your choice (Pinesol, Fabuloso, store brand, bleach, ammonia, white vinegar, Mr. Clean, Simple Green.. whatever you want), refill the bottle.  If you want to make it smell extra yummy, add an essential oil.  The cap can be difficult to come off... soak it in hot water for 10 seconds and then it'll come off.  Just remember to screw back on tight and turn upside down before loading it to make sure it isn't leaking.

And you just saved at least $5! Just on that one refill.
Thank you Pinterest and this blogger.

If you want to save more on your Swiffer... use a large sock that will stretch around the swiffer instead of the wet/dry pads... or with spare yarn you have waiting around for that small project, knit a long rectangle and fold over and sew 1 inch on the long ends to keep in place while mopping. Throw it in the wash when you're done.  You just saved yourself over $10 with one purchase of cleaner and pads!
