One of the great things about being stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC is that a vacation is literally 10 minutes away. It's easy to find a quiet beach and local seafood spots and lose yourself from the world for a day and feel like you're on a beach vacation.
The coast is lined with little towns with mini "historic" districts like in Swansboro. Although the historic district only holds a handful of restaurants and little shops here.
Date night included dinner at the Icehouse Waterfront Restaurant, which was delicious! Lots of local seafood and everything made on site.

It was so easy to feel like you're on vacation when you immerse yourself in the beach and a dinner surrounded by vacation-ers from Emerald Island.
