DIY Wine Cork Hot Pad

I recently found a cool way to use up all those wine corks I've been saving by turning them into a hot pad!

You'll need:
  • Picture frame the size of the hot pad you want
  • Wine corks
  • Gorilla or super glue
  • Cutting board
  • Serrated knife
  1. Remove the glass and any paper in the picture frame so that only the backing is left.  If it is a stand up picture frame, remove the stand.
  2. Cut corks in half lengthwise.  This is so the corks fit nicely inside of the frame and don't stick up super far.
  3. Pair corks by size and arrange in pattern. I wanted to put them horizontal and vertical in pairs.
  4. Arrange in picture frame before gluing!  They might pop out a little or need to be fitted by shaving off a few millimeters on the side to fit into your frame, depending on the size of cork and frame.
  5. When it's all pieced together like a puzzle, glue each piece down to the back of the frame and on the sides of the cork to hold snug in place.
  6. Give it a night for the glue to settle completely and enjoy!
